"When I was a little girl I was obsessed with horses. When I was six years old we moved to France, but I only wanted to go
if I could get horse riding lessons. That was a done deal. Although I loved and enjoyed being with horses, I started to doubt the way we were "supposed’’ to treat them. I was very lucky to get my own small pony from a friend of my family when I was nine years old. With this little pony I started to see how much fun you can have with horses. I sang for her, went on picnics with her, sat on her back in the field for hours and went on long walks with her. The fun and freedom of a horse at home started to make me question even more the way they work at riding schools. Six months after that my sister bought her own pony. Another year after that, my uncle came with a pretty little welsh foal that was sick and needed to get better. When I was 13 years old I didn’t wanted to go to the riding stable anymore and got a bigger horse because I became too big for my little pony. We bought a neglected and traumatised horse. With this slightly aggressive horse I ran into a lot of problems. Through a tip from a friend I came in touch with a book called ‘dancing with horses’ by Klaus Hempfling. Almost all the feelings and thoughts I had about horses were confirmed in that book. After that I started training and playing again and my horses were my best teachers. Meanwhile our little group of ponies grew into a herd of 13 horses
and ponies. We had big horses, small ponies and young foals and they all had their own distinct characters. When I was sixteen I started to give lessons in communication with horses the way I thought it should be. Here my horses are just as much a teacher as I am. Those lessons grew into weekly lessons and workshops that I give with my horses." From november 2012 till september 2013 she worked together with
